Helmet care and inspection basics
· 3 min read
A helmet is simple to maintain when you give it a quick check after dusty, wet, or long rides. Regular care helps you notice loose parts and damage before the next ride.
Clean gently
Use a soft cloth and the care method recommended by the helmet maker. Keep the visor clear, and let removable liners dry completely before putting them back.
Inspect the shell, strap, and fastener
Look for cracks, deep scratches, loose trim, damaged straps, or a buckle that does not close reliably. Follow the manufacturer guidance after an impact or if you find any damage.
